The Dot Pad X is:

• More affordable: Dot Pad X costs less than half as much as the Monarch.
• Lighter: Dot Pad X weighs about 2.65 lb (1.2 kg), compared with 4.65 lb for the Monarch.
• Designed to work with your existing technology and screen readers.
• Uses newer Dot Actuator 3.0 cells, compared with the Monarch's V2 cells, for faster refresh and more responsive tactile output.

The Dot Pad X is a Braille and graphics display first, connecting to your computer or phone through Bluetooth or USB-C. It is supported by JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver, along with a growing number of custom apps and community-created tools.

The Monarch includes applications on board and is designed more as an all-in-one notetaking device. It can also function as a Braille display, but its primary focus is providing an integrated device with built-in applications and content access.
