Meet Luna, the New Blindshell Classic 3 Voice Assistant

Luna is the new voice assistant available on the BlindShell Classic 3. Luna offers a range of built-in functions to help you manage your apps, contacts, calendar, messages, and more. These features are specifically designed to give Luna access to your phone's capabilities, allowing you to interact naturally and accomplish tasks faster. Please note that like any voice assistant, command will sometimes not work as expected, and you may need to ask more than once or use slightly different words to get your command to work.

What commands can I say to Luna

While not a complete list, here are some things you can ask Luna.

Apps

Description: The Apps function gives Luna access to the list of installed applications. Luna can use this knowledge to help you find out what apps are installed and even launch them for you.

Examples:

• "What applications do I have installed?"
• "Do I have WhatsApp installed?"

Launch App

Description: Luna can launch any installed application.

Examples:

• "Start Video Camera app."

Date and Time

Description: Luna can provide information about the current time, date, day of the week, and your time zone.

Examples:

• "What time is it?"
• "What is today's date?"
• "What day of the week is it?"
• "What time zone am I in?"

Status Information

Description: Luna can check your phone’s status, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, signal strength, battery level, and notifications. Whether you want to know about connectivity or battery life, Luna is here to help. Essentially, any information available in the status menu is accessible through Luna.

Examples:

• "Am I connected to Wi-Fi? If so, what is the signal strength?"
• "What is the name of the Wi-Fi network I’m connected to?"
• "Is Bluetooth enabled?"
• "Is my phone connected to a Bluetooth device? If yes, which one?"
• "How many SIM cards are in my phone?"
• "Read me notifications."
• "Is my phone in airplane mode?"
• "What is my signal strength?"
• "How much mobile data have I used this month?"
• "What is my battery percentage? Is it charging?"
• "Is my Wi-Fi hotspot turned on?"
• "How many missed notifications do I have?"
• "Are mobile data enabled?"

Contacts

Description: Luna can access your phone’s contacts to help you search, filter, or call specific people effortlessly.

Examples:

• "How many contacts do I have?"
• "How many contacts named Peter do I have?"
• "Find all Peters in my contacts."
• "Do I have Peter Newsted saved in my contacts?"

Call

Description: Luna can make phone calls for you, either by dialing a number or calling someone from your contacts.

Examples:

• "Dial 806 602 298."
• "Call Peter."

Message

Description: Luna can send SMS messages to your contacts or any specific number you provide.

Examples:

• "Send a message to 806 602 298 with text: 'Hi. How are you?'"
• "Send Peter a message: 'Hi. How are you?'"

Calculator

Description: Luna can evaluate mathematical expressions, including basic operations, roots, exponents, and logarithms. It also supports constants like π (PI) and e, as well as functions such as square root, absolute value, and trigonometric calculations. You can ask Luna about supported operations for more details. (Note: Luna does not solve equations.)

Browse Web or Search

Description: Luna can open websites for you and perform searches using your preferred search engine.

Alarm

Description: Luna can set alarms to help you wake up on time or remind you of important tasks.

Examples:

• "Set an alarm for weekdays at 7:30 AM."
• "Set an alarm for the weekend at 9:00 AM."
• "Set an alarm for tomorrow at 8:00 AM."

Note

Description: Luna can take notes for you, so you never forget your shopping lists or important thoughts.

Examples:

• "Add a note: shopping list – bread, milk, newspaper, eggs, apples, juice and oranges."

Timer

Description: Luna can set and start a timer to help you manage your activities or cooking tasks.

Examples:

• "Start a timer for 10 minutes."

Calendar

Description: Luna can help you organize your schedule by adding events to your calendar.

Examples:

• "Add an event for tomorrow at 12 PM titled 'Lunch' at 'My Favorite Restaurant.'"
• "Add an event for this Tuesday titled 'Exercising' from 5 PM to 6 PM with weekly repetition at My Favorite Gym."

Weather

Description: Luna provides current weather updates, including temperature, and a 3-day weather forecast with 1-hour granularity.

Examples:

• "What is the temperature right now?"
• "How windy is it outside?"
• "Will it rain today?"
• "What time will the sun set tomorrow?"
• "What will the weather be like tomorrow at 10 AM?"
